Benefits
In a fire emergency, electrical systems can often fail due to damage or power outages. This product solves that vulnerability by providing a completely mechanical alarm that is powered by the very water used to fight the fire. The high-volume sound ensures that occupants and passersby are alerted immediately. Its aluminum alloy construction and epoxy coating prevent rust and decay, ensuring the bell remains functional for years even when exposed to outdoor elements. This reduces long-term maintenance costs and ensures that your fire protection system remains up to code and ready for action.
Usage / How to Use
This bell is installed as part of a fire sprinkler riser assembly. In a Type B installation, the gong is mounted on the outside of a wall, while the water motor is located inside, connected by a drive shaft through the masonry. When the fire system valves open due to a fire or a test, water is diverted to the motor impeller. The moving water turns the impeller, which drives the internal striker to hit the gong repeatedly. This creates a loud, continuous ringing sound that continues as long as water is flowing through the system.
